NEW RESTAURANTS
๐ฅ Gorilla Nutz: Arlington's New Hidden Soul Food Paradise That's Worth the Drive
Y'all, I've been hearing the buzz about Gorilla Nutz in Arlington for months. This cozy soul food spot is serving up some seriously mouthwatering dishes that'll have you planning your next visit before you even finish your meal. Word on the street is their pork chops are absolute perfection โ juicy, tender, and smothered in your choice of sauce. But what really stole the show is their "Grabbage" โ a magical mix of greens and cabbage that's so good it might convert even the most devoted veggie-haters. The Fort Worth Foodies group has been raving about this place, and after one bite, I totally understand why!
๐ฐ Price range $12-20 per person

๐๏ธ Neighborhood Arlington (Matlock area)
๐ Location 7401 Matlock Rd, Suite 119, Arlington
๐ก Good to know The strawberry sauce is a MUST TRY on either wings or pork chops. They're relatively new, so some map apps still show the previous business at this location. They're right next to Dynamite Grill, making this strip mall a serious food destination. Cash and cards accepted.

SANDWICH
๐ฅช Bigger IS Better: The Monster Sandwiches at Weinberger's Will Make Your Jaw Drop
if you haven't experienced the absolute mountains of deli goodness at Weinberger's Deli, you're seriously missing out! This place has become my go-to when I'm craving a sandwich that requires both hands (and maybe a fork and knife). With over FIVE DOZEN options on their menu, they've got everything from a classic Reuben that'll transport you straight to New York, to a California club that puts all other clubs to shame. What makes these sandwiches truly special isn't just their massive size โ though trust me, they're some of the biggest in Texas โ it's the quality of ingredients and perfect balance of flavors in every bite. I recently tried their Italian beef and nearly needed a nap afterward... in the best possible way!
๐ฐ Price range $10-15 per person

๐๏ธ Neighborhood Locations in Grapevine and Farmers Branch
๐ Location Closest to Fort Worth: 601 S Main St #100, Grapevine
๐ก Good to know The Grapevine location is full-service dining, while Farmers Branch is pick-up or delivery only. Don't sleep on their vegetarian options โ the mushroom banh mi has converted even the most devoted carnivores! Pro tip: Order online ahead of time during lunch rush to skip the wait. Come hungry โ these sandwiches are not for the faint of heart!
ITALIAN
๐ Piatello: The Italian Gem That Even New Yorkers Can't Stop Talking About
Piatello: The Italian Gem That Even New Yorkers Can't Stop Talking About If you've been on the hunt for authentic Italian in Fort Worth, your search ends at Piatello. This Waterside gem has been getting major love in the Fort Worth Foodies group, especially from transplanted New Yorkers and Northeasterners who know their pasta! One Brooklyn native called it "the closest thing to real Italian food in DFW," and that's saying something. Their house-made pastas are the star of the show โ particularly the Sunday Gravy, which simmers all day just like Nonna used to make. And don't even get me started on their tiramisu, which multiple readers called "life-changing." The warm, inviting atmosphere makes this spot perfect for date night or a special family dinner.
๐ฐ Price range $20-35 per person
